Colin J. MacLock

Colin MacLock, an award winning artist and designer, is a graduate from the Kootenay School of Art. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Notre Dame University of Nelson and combined his studies in Art History and Printmaking at the University of Victoria. The lost wax casting technique, fabrication, finishes and research experience in these institutions were to become valuable assets towards his future career in model ship restoration. Most importantly the two year casual apprenticeship under Michael Mott in the Industrial Design Workshops at the University of Alberta in the late 60’s developed Colin’s key foundations in fabrication tool and jig construction, invention, restoration and design.
